Underwater Illumination Simulation
The goal of this project was to simulate the experience of being underwater.
The installation was accomplished using a projector, mirror, tub of water and canopy of white foam core panel.
Underneath visitors were invited to lie down on a 3/4 inflated air mattress and view the projected images.
Transforming Light Studio – Serious Play 2008

I co-taught the Transforming Light Studio at Serious Play 2008, hosted by Art Center instructors Dan Gottlieb and Penny Herscovitch.

I shared my knowledge of non-linear folding techniques with the students whom collectively created dynamic forms and reinterpreted lighting fixtures.

About the studio:
Open your eyes to the power and poetics of light. Using paper, tyvek and other simple supplies, participants will invent a range of lighting solutions. Some elements will be inspired by the work of Conference speaker Robert Lang.
Nesting Necklace

A one-off jewelry piece created from three types of hand sculpted hardwoods which nest together when worn.
Birds Nest

A sculptural metaphor of a birds next.

Cast ceramic forms inhabit the nest which was created from weaving of off-cut wooden dowels.
Cell Forms
A series of investigations based on cell structures. Designed in Rhino and 3D printed at different scales.
The resulting forms where arranged in a variety of configurations to explore ideas of enclosure, light and shadow, and partition.
